Customer Challenge

NCR wants a mechanism to secure their POS machines and the infrastructure with industry best practices and the solution must be capable enough to manage the endpoints from a centralized dashboard.

Partner Solution

  • Deployed a VMware workspace ONE (WSO) UEM on AWS by integrating file level antivirus system and defining industry best practice baseline in securing the backend machines and POS infrastructure.
  • VMware Workspace ONE UEM combines identity and mobility management to provide frictionless and secure access to all the apps across all outlets.
  • Windows Server 2016 and SQL Server 2016 deployed to host Workspace ONE & Assist servers.
  • Workspace ONE server, Assist & SQL server is collated within a single server. Workspace one device server is on a separate instance.
  • AWS S3 was used for the backup of data and EBS volumes along with AMI Snapshots. This was necessary in order to avoid any loss.
  • Some other AWS Services used were:
    o AWS CloudWatch
    o AWS IAM
    o AWS Trusted Advisor
    o AWS Transit gateway
